Join @EcoOutfitters for the next #SolarChat, to be held on Twitter on December 12th from 2:00-3:00 p.m. EST. Our focus will be on how solar gives back, highlighting ways solar can provide cheer for the holiday season and beyond. Share and learn more about how solar is and can be used to pay it forward in the U.S. and around the world, as well as find out about some creative solar gift ideas!

We'll be joined by Youness Scally (@EverybodySolar), the executive director of Everybody Solar;  Samantha Go (@TheSolSolution), chief marketing officer of SolSolution; and John Alejandro (@solarfund), communications director of the Solar Electric Light Fund.

Youness Scally is a CPA with a background in finance. Youness co-founded Everybody Solar because he wanted to do something tangible about climate change without waiting for congress or the U.N. to act. Youness feels that distributed solar energy has the power to positively impact peoples lives in many ways by reducing the amount of toxic chemicals in the air, lowering electricity bills for outstanding charitable organizations and freeing us from an undemocratic energy system.

Samantha Go is the Chief Marketing Officer at SolSolution, a non-profit social enterprise that makes it extremely easy and financially attractive for schools to adopt solar power. They then take what would normally be profit and reinvest those funds into low-income schools and educational programming focused on solar energy, STEM education, and green-entrepreneurship. Samantha and the SolSolution team strongly believe that this nexus of clean energy and education is the path to a brighter future and that the mission provides a compulsory opportunity to invest in our next generation. Starting her work with SolSolution through social media outreach directed towards individual supporters, Samantha's role quickly expanded to all aspects of connecting SolSolution with more schools, solar EPCs, and educational partners.

As SELF’s communications director, John Alejandro is dedicated to eliminating energy poverty through the use of solar energy. He has worked in the field of communications and sustainability for 15 years, helping renewable energy and environment-related companies establish their leadership. SELF’s mission is to implement solar energy solutions for those living in energy poverty to assist them with economic, education, health and agricultural development.

For those new to Twitter, a hashtag (#) is an easy way to find and follow people who are tweeting about a certain topic. #SolarChat has a simple mission: Curious consumers, energy experts, and installation professionals can tune into Twitter at the designated chat time to share advice and resources, weigh in on discussion topics, pose questions or concerns, and work together to advance solar awareness.

#SolarChat is held on the second and fourth Wednesday of every month from 2:00-3:00 p.m. EST.
